In my class environment, my ultimate goal is to promote individual exploration, while also creating the communal experience of reaching full physicality. I aim to get to know students as individuals and honor their unique qualities. I will share things that are inspiring to me, in the hopes that it will push my students to find things they are themselves interested in. Inspiration is contagious! The environment will foster bravery and risk taking. This will help my students to develop a deeper relationship with themselves and an understanding of how they relate to movement. My class is best for those who will show up each time present and ready to dive into exploration. Dance has the endless ability to heal and excite us.
I have experience with a range of age and experience level. I have taught improvisation, floor work, composition, ballet, contemporary, jazz, musical theatre/broadway, and toddler music classes. I have taught for City Dance Conservatory, Chrystie Street Ballet, Four Corners Creative, NYU Future Dancers & Dancemakers, and self-organized classes for peers. I find that the greater variety in my teaching experience, the more I learn about how to conduct myself in the space and how to create the best environment for my students. I am excited to continue to expand my teaching connections and experiences!
